Family Pictures

We recently had family pictures taken. Staci Nagel, a photographer out of Jefferson City took them for us for the second year in a row. She was so great to work with. As you can imagine, getting 2 little boys to sit still and smile for an hour straight is nearly impossible. She was so patient with us. It was a beautiful Saturday squeezed in the middle of an otherwise rainy month.

Here are some of my favorites.

We chose the Capitol for our location. We did a more woodsy backdrop last year and wanted something different. The Capitol has some great gardens and stonework overlooking the river that gave us several great spots.

Before we moved to Missouri, Jeremy and I had no interest in college football. We've always been more of an NFL family. That all changed when we relocated to Missouri, right outside a college town.  After attending a game or two, as well as some tailgates, we added Saturday college football to our weekend routine. It only fit to take one of our pictures in some Mizzou gear at the Capitol. Go Tigers!

One fun one :)

And now for the boys. Let's face it. Isn't this the real reason we get "family pictures" done? I just like to have tons of pictures of the boys. These are just a handful of adorable pictures we got of them.

My favorite of the boys together, overlooking the Missouri River.

One nice one....

And one to show his personality.

Eli looking so handsome.

And a true personality one.  I just love this one because it is so him.

And of course we had to get one of Jeremy and me. I can't believe we've been together for 20 years! My partner in adventure and the love of my life.

There were many, many more. It was hard to choose just a few to post here, but these were my favorites. Now....I just have to pick one for the Christmas card....

High Five for Friday

Amazing fall weather has settled into Missouri, and we have been busy, busy, busy. To breathe some life back into this blog, I thought what better than a High Five for Friday post? Here are 5 fantastic things that have been making me happy the past few weeks.

1.) We took the boys to their first concert a couple of weekends ago. We were fortunate to have one of our favorite bands of all times, J. J. Grey and the Mofro performing at the Root, Blues, and Barbeque Festival right here in mid Missouri. It was a great outdoor concert and the boys loved it. I think they couldn't believe that they were seeing the same person we listen to in the van all the time. What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

We got so close to the stage!

And the great part about an outdoor festival was that there was plenty of space for us to move around as we needed.

2.)This made me so happy this morning when I was getting the boys ready for preschool. Eli came running into my room and threw himself full speed into the wall. Before I could ask what he was doing, he looked really sad and said, "Awwww! I don't have any magic!" Poor kid. What a tough realization to be dealt at 3 years old.

3.)Boy Scout popcorn has arrived! Have you gotten yours yet?

4.) On a recent trip to Springfield, MO, we took the boys to this footbridge that runs over 13 train tracks. It wasn't until I was in the middle of it until I realized how high up it was, and how unstable I felt on it. I got so scared that I had to rush down. I told Jeremy I felt the bridge swaying from the wind, but he said it was just me swaying.

5.) Last but not least, did you know it's fire prevention week? Our local firehouse opened their doors to kids under 5 (and their parents). Eli got to climb through one of the firetrucks (Lex had no interest or desire). Jeremy got to practice using a fire extinguisher, AND they even showed us their living quarters which was really cool. They also handed out books to kids and fire safety literature to parents.

Could you use a fire extinguisher if you needed to?

Happy Friday, y'all. Have a great weekend. May the best football teams win!

I'm linking up with Lauren.
